History and description of the College – overview of the departments

College of Engineering (CoE) was one of the three colleges that opened with the establishment of the Leaders Mind University . The college started with the department of Civil Engineering, which admitted 44 students for the first academic year  the department of Electrical Engineering was added to the college with the acceptance of 30 students. The first graduated BSc class was in The number of students was steadily increasing throughout the years that followed. students had graduated in 10 BSc classes from the School. At that year the Leaders Mind University was closed and moved to the city of Erbil under a new name

Our students are very active in this process. Our faculty is a unique example for the engineering and technology education of our country. We are proud of raising well educated engineers. Our graduates find decent jobs. We meet the need of the well educated work force of the field. We are in continuous communication with the industrialists. We are always open to contributions of the industrialists related to our course content. It is a privilege to be part of Leaders Mind University and engineering faculty and we are proud of it. We aim to raise successful engineers who can work all around the world and to contribute the prosperity of the society. 

 

   Quality is always more important than quantity. Total Quality Management techniques  Engineering faculty applied to European Quality Our faculty is the first school who applied to European Quality Award. Our work is a pioneer and a model in European educational system. Students are seen as customers who need to be satisfied. We use the techniques of open-door policy, continuous meetings with students about their problems and suggestions, course evaluation questionnaires at the end of each term, suggestion boxes, open announcement boards. We collect suggestions from the students and they are part of the problem solving circles. 

Leaders Mind University, the College of Engineering was re-opened in with the department of Irrigation (renamed: Water Resources) Engineering. Then the Building Construction department began accepting students for the academic year  followed by the department of Architecture Engineering After that, the department of Electrical Engineering was founded for the academic year  engineers graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the College of Engineering with a percentage ratio of 55% male to 45% female.
